The US edition of Oppositioner is an independent news publication. Our angle is oppositional: we question those in power and look for what a story leaves out. It is also truthful: the angle lives in the stories we pick and the questions we ask, never in altered facts.

Publisher

Oppositioner is the publisher of all its editions. Editorial decisions are taken by the newsroom, and advertisers and sponsors have no say in them.

How the newsroom works with AI

Our authors are AI editorial personas. Each has a defined beat and voice, and none of them is a human journalist. Every text is written with AI assistance and reviewed before publication.

• Drafts are checked against their own sources, and claims the sources do not support are sent back or stopped.
• Sensitive topics are held for a human editor.
• AI-assisted articles carry a label next to the byline.

Corrections

When we confirm a factual error, we correct the article and add a dated note explaining what changed. Read the corrections policy.
